26 days old

My own personal theory on breastfeeding is "do it 'till the kid gets teeth"
Well, on top of all of Zain's other oddities, there was a little white spot on his gums when he was born. For an instant I thought, "Is that a tooth?" and then didn't give it a second thought ... until last night. After a particularly vigorous feeding, I was thinking, "why is this so hard? Isn't it supposed to get easier?"
And the thought about that white spot popped into my head. I put a finger in his mouth to check it out, and I'll be damned, I swear the sucker was born with a tooth!!
Not really looking for an excuse to stop breast feeding, I will stick to my theory, and wait until he has "teeth." I won't count the one "tooth."

And at least it's just barely poking through. The poor kid gets to go through teething already. Good thing he is a tough guy.

we finally got Zain's "circ" done today. He's doing pretty well, but very clingy. I'm letting him sleep on my belly for now. poor little guy. at least it's done.

yes, indeed . . . MAD SKILLS!

We are on some kind of roll today . . . I think Dad needs to take Ezri out for some fresh air after our morning . . .

I was taking a picture of her "pretty beard"
It wasn't until I looked at the display on the camera that I even noticed the pants.

I tell you what- my mom skills are sick! like the sickest, man, I tell you what . . .

parenting skills....I got MAD skills, yo!

Not as grumpy today . . .

Zain: 16 days old Zain has been awake a lot today, and not having the grumpy face, I had to take a couple of pictures. This camera seems to have a big greasy smudge on the lens. Oh well, it's kind of a neat effect?
Aren't those shoes too cute? He reminds me of a gorilla, big long arms, and short legs....

first bath

Sorry, no pictures. Camera battery charger is misplaced...
Ezri was so cute. I aked her to help me get the bath ready for Zain. She reminded me "needs bubbles!" and once the water was running, "need Zain, get Zain!"

So, Zain was very content in the warm bubbles. Very calm, looking around, kind of floating off the little baby holder thing . . . And I was all absorbed in getting him very clean . . . when Ezri popps into the bathroom naked and starts to climb in with him. She took off her pajamas and diaper all by herself., very quietly, kind of sneaky in the hallway... I told her she had to go potty if she wanted into the bath - so she went, and then climbed in.

They were pretty adorable. Ezri helped wash Zain's hair, then dumped a bucket of water on his face.
Later, we all went to the doctor for Zain's 2 week check up. He now weighs 10 lbs, 6 oz! that's a whole pound since just last week! We will have to wait till Monday for the lab results from Tuesday's blood draw, but he sure seems to be doing well.

My update is that in the past 2 weeks, I have dropped over 25 pounds. Keep in mind, a big chunk of that was actual Zain, but I seem to be recovering a lot faster than with Ezri.

Life takes on new meaning . . .

Or, at least those sayings that never made sense actually seem to have a meaning

Such as:
"tear you a new one"
"pain in the butt"
" up yer butt and around the corner . . . "

The couch monster

Nana and Papa came to see Zain. I mostly napped while they were here, but Ezri had a blast running around and showing off for them .
yeah, should have closed the blinds.

She just popped right out of the couch!
He seems like shuch a big guy! What a hunk!

HA! Man Doctor!! See, I knew what I was talking about!

First of all, Jessica, I have to call you because I have lots of IUD questions . . .

And Second - HA! That silly man doctor told me to "go to the movies and enjoy your afternoon"
Good thing I didn't listen to him! (more details to follow when the carpal tunnel eases up a bit . . . ) but guess what happened later that afternoon??? . . . WELCOME ZAIN STOCKTON KNUDSON

9lbs, 2 oz, 21 inches blazed into the world at 12:44 am after a very exciting delivery on Aug 30th. And the action did not stop with the delivery....

Anyway, I will have to tell the story later when I can type without numb fingers . .
