Thank you all for your help and support this weekend. (especially Trent and Kylie for the ride, Heather for picking me up and entertaining me, Brad, Ali and "M" for driving to visit, and Nana and Papa for the overnight stay and meals)
This is a sample question from the test I took. Is a square of toilet paper 3 inches? It seemed important that applicants be very aware of how to measure exactly 3 inches . . . (I think I did okay... )
While making toilet paper may not be as exciting as taking 9-1-1 calls, or as glamorous as searching bags and passengers at the airport, it is closer to family and actually pays quite well. And lets face it, it is an important part of a modern, healthy lifestyle - you know . . . wiping . .
When I was struggling with the decision to leave the airport and go to emergency communications, weighing the pros and cons, I took a tour of the 9-1-1 center, and when they showed us the full gym, washer and dryer, and nice locker room showers - I was convinced. I even used the gym a few times. It was really neat to work out on breaks - before switching to graveyards and getting pregnant.
Well, the P&G HR rep that gave us a mini orientation before the test, explained that this plant will have many "healthy employee" features, including, an exercise room, sunroof-like windows for daylight, a healthy menu at the cafeteria, and a no-tobacco policy for the entire site. Wish me luck in the upcoming competitive interview process.

With the sample question, I think the key is to NOT get confused and fill in Answer "B." There are two B's on the page, I can understand the temptation to use Answer B when the Question is about Point B.

Liz, there was no hidden meaning. I just meant - are there any cool jobs there? Like, a toilet paper factory opening or something?? P&G is currently building one in Bear River, Utah. I flew in this weekend to take a skills test to try to get a job there. It probably won't be open and running for over a year, but they will be interviewing in the next few months.
Jess, there was no job offer at the end of his interview, and I am ready to leave California.
Where is Bear river UT? I know I have heard of it!
Life is just SUPER hard! We are looking to buy houses right now, and my price range is on the west side! I might as well stay at the motel.
That is, unless I put zephyr and Maren up for adoption! We could live in some fat pads!!! :)
Bear River is by Tremonton and Brigham - so, since I am having major cash flow issues - if I get the job, we would likely stay with in-laws to pay some bills and save up. I am surprised that houses, even in North Ogden, and Corrine seem to be priced high for the economy/area. There are a lot of houses in California for less than 100K, but no where to work near these houses - so these neighborhoods are like ghost towns with a bunch of empty houses. Sad.
Kim...you should totally come make toilet paper and live in Utah by me!!! For reals though, what exactly is your job description? Do you MAKE the toilet paper or TEST the toilet paper? And how exactly DO you test toilet paper? Just curious! But good luck!
I am not exactly sure, other than the rap video on "Elmo's Potty Time" about making toilet paper. . . I haven't really thought about it. I think the process is kind of top-secret - so the competition doesn't steal the recipe?
The "Plant" might not open for a long time, (since it's not built yet)but I am hoping for an interview in the next month or two.
